Batgirl: In Bad Shape!

Honestly, I don't like to see Barbara suffering like this. Especially since she's about to have a part of her body amputated. I'm kind of a softy that way, I guess.

But... Her costume and mask are heavily battle damaged and you can almost see what she really looks like! So I'm duty-bound to publish it.

Movie Monday - Batgirl: Girl Power

More of a fun, lighthearted movie this time. This is a commercial from (I think) Argentina starring 60's Batgirl and Catwoman and 70's Wonder Woman. I just enjoy watching Barbara put on her mask!

These are fairly well-known so you may have seen these. But no collection is complete without them.

A Dark Night for Batgirl

(Mr. Grayson contacted me and donated another piece of art. He asked me to write a story to go with it, which I'm happy to do!)

Barbara Gordon had almost forced herself to forget that terrible episode in the Batcave when Batman -- her idol -- had violated her by forcibly pulling off her mask. Her most precious secret had been stolen from her against her will.

Since then Batman, Night Wing, the new Robin, and she had battled Gotham's worst super criminals side by side. They were a team and she felt that they always had her back.

Late one night, while out on patrol, Batgirl received a call on her secure Bat Communicator. "Barbara, this is Batman. I need you to meet me at the old Hardin warehouse on the edge of town. I'm sending the coordinates now!"

"Batman, what's wrong with your voice? You don't sound like yourself. And... that area wasn't on the patrol map for tonight."

"Change of plans!" The Dark Knight barked. "And I've just got a little laryngitis. Look, this is urgent! Get moving!"

"But -- Killer Croc and his gang. You said this was priority #1 for me."

"Are you questioning me, Gordon?" the voice on the other end snarled.

"No... sir," the Masked Maiden said with a submissive tone in her voice. "But please don't call me by my real name. What if somebody heard?"

"Just get over here!" He disconnected abruptly.

The heroine jumped on he Batgirl Cycle and sped off. "His laryngitis must be making him irritable," she told herself.

 Batgirl arrived at the warehouse as soon as she could. She didn't want to upset Batman again. The building was totally dark except for a little moonlight streaming down from holes in the ceiling. She pulled out her communicator as she walked into the rundown place. "Batman? This is Batgirl. I'm here. Where are you?"

"Good, you made it," the raspy voice said. "Just keep walking into the building. I'm downstairs in the old machine shop. You'll see the light."

Batgirl explored deeper into the warehouse, searching for the stairs to the basement. Batman sounded so different, she thought.  Of course, it wouldn't be anyone else on the communicator.  Just the Batman team had access to these transmissions and messages are highly encrypted.

Descending the steps she caught sight of a dim, orange-ish light coming from one of the rooms lining an utterly black hallway. "Batman," she said quietly. "Is that you?"

"Yes it's me. Get in here."

Barbara saw the figure of Batman in the dim light. He looked a little smaller than usual, thinner. "Must be sicker than he let on," she thought. He was standing in the far corner of the workshop, by an old wooden table where a vice and a few other abandoned tools she couldn't identify were attached. A block and tackle was overhead.

"Come over here and look at this!" the Dark Knight ordered. Batgirl obeyed. Batman backed away so she could get a closer look at the table.

"Hmm... shackles, chains, handcuffs. And this end of the workbench has been converted into a rack. Look, four leather restraints. Why, it almost looks like a dungeon!" Batgirl exclaimed.

 "Yes, it certainly does!" "Batman" commented. The raspy voice was gone, replaced by an all too familiar one. Batgirl recognized it immediately and instinctively knew what was happening. She spun around only to receive a face full of Bat Gas!

"Nightwing! No!" she coughed before collapsing to the cold cement floor.

When she finally awoke she found that her arms were securely shackled behind her. She'd been stripped to the waist and... he had taken off her mask!  "Nightwing -- Dick -- why?" Batgirl cried.

"I've been hot for you since before Batman brought you on, Barbara," Richard Grayson said. He pulled back his batmask and drew her closer. "I can't resist that rack any longer!  Besides, I know you want me. After all... 'I'm Batman!' "

Movie Monday - Batgirl Paralyzed, Stripped, Abused, Unmasked... Almost everything!

This is probably my favorite Batgirl (or Sea-Turtle Girl? You be the judge.) unmasking video of all time. True, I do wish they showed her being captured and drugged and what happens to poor BG after this ends. And I can think of some better dialog, although this is pretty nice.  But overall, this is pretty fantastic in my book!

A couple of notes: This definitely needs to be under the fold. Also, due to the subject matter I'm using a (::Ahem!::) different site to host this video. Please let me know if it works ok and what you think of it in general.

The Untold Story of How How Batgirl Joined the Batman Corps

After a long trek deep into the Batcave, Batman began insisting that Batgirl remove her mask and reveal her secret identity to him.  The young crimefighter refused, saying she would only let him see her face if he agreed to do the same. Grumbling, he walked on to the Bat Infirmary. Then he required her to strip down for examination to make sure she was fit enough to join his team. She reluctantly agreed, though she felt uneasy alone with a powerful man in a secluded part of the cave. But if she couldn't trust the Caped Crusader, she reasoned, who could she trust. In the process of the exam he discovered that Batgirl was an exceptionally well endowed girl. He spent quite a while examining and testing them. He had to determine whether they would be a vulnerability in crimefighting, he told her.

But then, the midst of her exam, Batman suddenly reached up and swiftly unmasked Batgirl, learning that she was really Barbara Gordon!

"Batman, my mask -- No!" she cries. "How could you? And when I'm topless, too!" But there was nothing she could do. Her secret had been exposed.

Batgirl was accepted into the team of course, and learned to bury this painful memory of Batman's betrayal so they could work together. Although the yearly full body exams Batman started requiring tended to reopen that wound. Still they fought beside each other for years, relying on each other through many dangers.

But, as we all know, when he decided Barbara's usefulness to him had ended, he cruelly ruined her career by unmasking her in public!

Batgirl is forced to unmask at last by the Penguin's cohort in crime, the evil Lola Lasagne! Lola's two henchwomen, Linguine and Canole, force the Dynamic Daredoll to stand as she suffers the humiliation of having her costume is stripped away, piece by piece, before Lola and the Penguin!

Batgirl: Trying to Conceal her Identity!

Beaten, unmasked, and left for dead by a gang of crooks, Batgirl feebly attempts to put her mask back on before someone finds her... She's depending on the good-hearted citizens of Gotham City to protect her identity and get her to Batman for medical treatment... surely none of them would take advantage of her in this condition...

Batgirl for Your Viewing Pleasure!

Batgirl slips her mask off in her hotel room... utterly oblivoious to the small surveillance camera recently installed by the maintenance man. He did this all the time whenever he noticed a pretty girl was staying in one of the rooms. "So I'm a perve -- so what!" he'd tell himself.

But tonight he'd be getting something special...

Batgirl: Compare and Contrast!

Hmmm... The dialog in this lovely depiction of poor, helpless Batgirl being heartlessly unmasked by the Riddler sounds suspiciously familiar. :-)  But I have to confess: I like this one (by Ceramos, I think) way more than the one I did.
